Anytime Macarons all started when I decided to make a single batch of macarons for a friend's birthday party due to overwhelming requests. A bit of history: back in 2018, I opened my first macaron shop in Daly City, CA. We were one of the first to offer "Fatcarons", also known as Fat Macs. This is when I really found my niche and started developing my signature flavor combinations, testing many different shell recipes and learning how to get these thick macarons to the perfect texture. In February 2019 we celebrated our first anniversary but then a couple months later, Covid lockdowns forced me to close my shop and rethink my business model altogether. After careful consideration, I hung up my baker's apron and retired my oven for over three years to focus on my family. When I finally decided to make that batch of birthday macarons, I told myself that if the batch turned out well, I would consider restarting my business again. I don’t know if it was the perfectly baked macaron shells or how I felt being in my kitchen creating, but I was inspired! I took my time planning a new direction, because I knew I wanted to do it differently this time around. I wanted to offer my customers my Korean-inspired Fatcarons anytime they craved something sweet, and hence the first "Fatcaron ATM" in the Bay Area has arrived!
